Quarter 3 News (January 9th - March 16th)

In the third quarter, we will continue to explore the Bible and learn how to utilize God's Word to assist and guide us, in our daily life. We will also begin to study the amazing ministry of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The children are so knowledgeable, insightful and faith filled, I often find myself benefiting so much from our spiritual discussions!

The students are still creating monthly Devotional Calendars and are required to study the selected verses each night. I hope that you and your family are participating in this study with your child. The children will also continue to be given weekly Bible verses to memorize. They are tested, each Tuesday. Please review the Bible verse with your child on Monday night, to ensure that he/she has committed it to memory.

Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions or concerns. I look forward to continuing to explore God's Word, with the children, as they prepare themselves for Confirmation Class in 7th Grade!

Quarter 3 News (January 9th - March 16th)

Confirmation:  We are having an interesting time with our discussions of the early church and how it has changed.  We will study the effect Martin Luther and other reformers had on the church.  When our study of the church is complete, we will study our own Spiritual Growth.  We will continue to emphasize prayer and reading the Bible as ways to keep our faith strong.

Quarter 3 News (January 9th - March 16th)

The study of Biblical character traits continues! We will still be working with the definitions, memory verses, synonyms and antonyms. We will still have the majority of our evaluations on Thursday of each week (if a different evaluation day is necessary, it will be posted at least 10 days in advance on Jupiter grades).

Here is one addition to what you'll see on-line. The students have requested that verses relating to our weekly character study be listed in the homework calendar so that they can enjoy a private devotional study outside of school. I'll be having a verse or two each day listed as “devotion”. This is purely a convenience that is optional for your student. There will be no grade associated with it.

The most affirming comment that I've heard is that it's hard not to pay attention in our Bible class. We keep our conversations/discussions relevant to today's pressures and temptations that are available to middle school students and above. We are doing the best that we can to prepare for the future and have determined that having real information is only part of preparation...we need to know how to properly apply that information in a God-honoring way. Only then can we move from success to significance.

Honor God. Work Hard. Live Right.
