Quarter 3 News (January 9th - March 16th)
This quarter will begin our Science Fair. Students will work either in groups or alone and will decide on a topic, provided it is within the specified guidelines, and design an experiment. This is a time that the students are able to allow their minds to soar and to inquire according to his or her desire. Some questions that have been asked are:
Does gaming qualify as exercise? Excited gamers are hoping that this may become a PE course.
Which (truly) natural cream cleanses your face? Wait, does that mean that I don’t need to spend a lot of money at the store?
Are fingerprints hereditary? I know that I look like my parents, but even down to my fingerprints?!
At the end of the quarter, we will showcase each project during our HCLA Science Fair and have independent judges to score on experimental design process, data collection and conclusion, and presentation. Who will be the HCLA 2012 Science Fair Winner?!
