Quarter 3 News (January 9th - March 16th)
Spanish Q3 Update:
In the third quarter, we will be working towards closing the gaps between the skill levels of the students. The most recent skill assessments show that the children are almost ready to begin the introduction of next year’s curriculum.
In grades K-5th, we will be reviewing and enhancing vocabulary learned during the first half of the year. The curriculum will be reviewed in a new way, incorporating new activities and games in effort to keep the curriculum fun and exciting!
In middle school, we will continue to focus heavily on grammar in all grades. 5th grade will be increasing vocabulary and reviewing curriculum from previous grades, to ensure that all children are on the same skill level, before we move forward. In effort to keep the curriculum interesting, we will incorporate student teaching, fun activities and games.
The 6th-8th grade will begin to learn other verb tense conjugations, as we begin to speak in future and past tense. 8th grade will continue to keep pace, as we complete our Spanish I textbooks, by the end of the school year. The children will do several reading comprehension and writing assignments to ensure understanding of previously learned concepts. This will also demonstrate their ability to combine those concepts to express themselves in Spanish.
All the children are doing such a wonderful job and seem so eager to learn! I am so proud of them and look forward to an exciting Q3!
