Mrs. Marla Adrian

1 Peter 4:10-11
Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.

Mission Statement
It is my mission to provide a warm, positive and energetic learning environment for my students, encouraging each individual to grow and reach their full potential, enabling them to reach out to others with the light and love of Jesus.

NOVEMBER 17 - NOVEMBER 21

This week in Reading and Spelling we will be on our Review Unit. While we brush up on skills and check on fluency, it's a great time for students to practice their word rings. If your child is still struggling a big with reading, working on the high frequency words (word rings) and having them read an easy read book for their star reading each night can make a Huge difference.

In Religion, we will be talking about Naaman, Elisha and Jonah. We also learned more about the grace of God and his willingness to forgive.

In Math, we continue to work on subtraction, and are working hard to make Math sentences out of stories that we read.

Caterpillars are all over First grade as we continue our unit on caterpillars. We are making caterpillars and then covering them with a cocoon. On the computer we will be watching a video that shows a caterpillar spinning its cocoon. We are also finishing up our First grade project for the Science Fair. Hope you will be able to stop by on the evening of Thursday, November 20, to see what First Grade and the other students of the school have been up to.

As a grand finale to our week, we will have our Talent Show on Friday afternoon. Hope all the students are finalizing their acts, and practicing what they will be doing.

I continue to feel blessed with my very eager students and super supportive parents. Thanks to all of you who were able to send in food to share for the Thanksgiving baskets that will be given out to those in need.

I also want to thank those of you who donated a book, or computer program for our classroom. We are already enjoying the books tremendously, and we will have our new computer program in centers next week. We felt like Christmas had already come for our class!!
