Mrs. Kristin McAllan

"Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." Colossians 3:12-17

About Our Math Class

AUGUST 25 - AUGUST 29

5th grade: This first week we will concentrate on good organization skills, review and preparation for being great Middle School students. Please check your child's blue planner book to make sure they are recording their homework. This will be a great tool for them and also a
way to help them (and you) plan ahead for projects, etc. Next week we will hit the Math book hard and assume a pace that will be typical of the rest of the year. Plan on seeing some work on understanding decimals, comparing and ordering decimals, and some problem solving.

6th Grade: We will concentrate on organization and review this first  week. I will expect all students to utilize their blue planner for assignments and I hope parents will check these frequently. Next week we will work on adding and subtracting decimals, estimating and problem
solving.

7th/8th Grade: Our class will review briefly this week and dive right in to integers and decimals. *Parents, please visit the web site that goes with this book at least once this week. * There are a number of very cool helps that are free to you and your student. Video lessons  are available for each lesson!! This means that if your child did not understand something, you can view a lesson online! The website is: www.phschool.com . I will go through the steps with your child this week, so they should know how to do it.
