PRESCHOOL: FULL DAY {Sanford Campus}

Holy Cross Lutheran Academy and Preschool is dedicated in teaching the grace and love of our Savior, Jesus Christ, to the children in our care. We provide a nurturing, educating environment to young children in a challenging, and interesting approach. Age appropriate programs and a staff of dedicated teacher's guarantee a positive learning experience for your child.

THREE-YEAR OLDS

HCLA's older three year classes is designed to promote learning. This class encourages play with purpose, inventiveness, and problem solving. A wealth of concrete, manipulative learning materials encourages the child to grow in self confidence while they discover and learn.

Math skills are woven through out the program to enhance mathematical thinking.

Children are encouraged to appreciate language and vocabulary through the use of books, songs, storytelling and the printed word.

Learning centers include:

• Dramatic play - dress up clothes, puppets, dolls, kitchen area
• Blocks - cars, people, animals
• Manipulatives - puzzles, lacing, pegs
• Tactile play- sensory table, play dough
• Library -multicultural books, big books, listening center
• Science Area - discovery materials
• Art - crayons, markers, easel painting, glue, stamps, collage material

What my child will need:

• At least two changes of clothing
• Small lightweight blanket, for nap
• Book bag
• Clear plastic shoe box

The curriculum for VPK classes at HCLA is Creative Curriculum with the enrichment of the faith-based curriculum Wee Learn.

PRE-KINDERGARTEN - VPK

The Holy Cross VPK program successfully prepares children for school by providing an opportunity to develop school readiness skills in an environment that encourages children to have fun while learning. VPK providers offer a preschool experience taught by certified instructors.

This is an exciting opportunity for the four-year-olds to gain the skills, self-confidence, and love of learning needed to be ready for school and ready for life.

The children will alternate weekly going to the schools library and having music classes.

Hours for VPK are 9 a.m. to noon. VPK services are free of charge. You do not have to pay a supply fee or registration fee.

PRE-KINDERGARTEN - BEFORE SCHOOL AND EXTENDED CARE PROGRAM

We offer to families, for a fee, before and after-school program to provide a safe, stimulating environment for children whose family situations require student supervision before and/or after the VPK classes.

We begin before-school programs at 7 a.m. and end at 6 p.m. The fee covers three meals: Breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack.
