COMPUTER CLASS
Mr. Rob Sinninger
Resume: Mr. Sinninger is a certified teacher in elementary education and has previously taught in the Seminole County Public Schools system. He also teaches Sunday School at Holy Cross Lutheran Church – Lake Mary and assists with the childern's worship service. He has taught adult computer and software education classes throughout his career including discipleship and leadership classes with a church start up in South Florida.
He has 20+ years in the software industry in multiple areas such as travel and tourism, bank processing at the Federal Reserve and banking systems with companies such as Capital One, Wildcard Systems, First Data International and NCR. His primary focus has been on the management, creation and design of software systems, taking it from idea to reality working with customers, programmers and senior management teams.
Mission: My mission is to expose all of our students to technology in a way that they are familiar and at ease. Out school theme this year is Tell the Story and I will show the students to do just that using technology. People have always used whatever means and technology they had available to them to share the Gospel to as many people as possible. I will teach the students how to use technology and successfully navigate the world through this web of information, I will be equipping them not only for the future but providing them powerful skills to continue the work the Lord has laid out inf front of us.
About this class: In technology we will primarily focus on software and it's purpose and capabilities to help them grow as individuals by integrating it into their educational day. We will explore and use technology to enhance and expand on their classroom learning, as well as to delve into new areas. They will be directed and taught the ins and outs of the internet, how to navigate and surf safely to avoid undesired content and viruses. Since technology will be integrated into their lives, we will prepare them for the digital age by having them learn keyboarding skills at all levels starting in Kindergarten and moving into website design and implementation in a real world environment in the Middle School classes.
We are in the middle of a great technological boom in our society and it is something that will be with them for the rest of their lives. This digital generation has the desire and aptitude for technology but will need direction and guidance to its proper and safe use. It is a very exciting time and we plan to explore as much as we can!
