Mrs. Megan Hoyer

Resume: Mrs. Hoyer received both her B.A. in History and her Master's of Education from the University of Florida (Go Gators) where she met her husband Ben. The two of them have been married since January 2003 and have two children, Wesley and Eleanor. She has taught middle school and high school, and taught the subjects of Social Studies and Math. Having herself attended a small Christian school from kindergarten through high school, Mrs. Hoyer is excited to be on the giving end of such a unique and nurturing learning environment.  

My Mission: I cannot recall a time in childhood when I was not fascinated by history. It was not dates or the list of important people that grabbed my attention, but the stories of regular, “ordinary” people; the personal histories. Even now as this fascination has carried me through college and all the way into my chosen career, I am constantly drawn not to the powerful leaders but to the people they ruled. I hope to instill this love of people in my own students because at the end of the day, we don't study history to avoid repeating it, we study history to help us understand who we are today and how we got here.
