SPANISH CLASS

Ms. Stephanie Posadas

Resume: Stephanie Posadas has always had a love for children and felt called to teach and guide them. Being the eldest child and grandchild, she often would care for her younger family members and started babysitting by the age of twelve. By age fifteen, she was employed by Northside United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. She worked in the children's ministries, preschool and as a youth counselor for many years in the same church. She later taught preschool and elementary Spanish in other church based schools.

She received religious education via her many years spent in the church and while obtaining her B.A. in Business Administration at Olivet Nazarene University. She later entered the corporate world focusing in human resource management and worked in hospitality management, as well. This experience assisted her in developing her training, management and leadership skills.

But, she still felt the call to work with children and unfulfilled. Armed with immense faith in God, she dusted off her teaching resume and was led to Holy Cross Lutheran Academy. Walking through the doors en route to the interview, she knew that she had found a new home.

Although, of Hispanic decent, she learned Spanish as a second language. Therefore, she has first hand experience in the triumphs and challenges one faces reaching proficiency in a foreign language.

My Mission:  would like to assist my students to see that the world is full of God’s children and that communication is essential to understanding.  I am hoping to instill a curiosity and compassion for the different people, cultures and languages spoken around the globe. I wish for my students to develop a genuine desire to bridge the global language gaps, want to learn a foreign language and develop a genuine love for all people.
